appreciation

Not this:Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

If you come across the book,The Philosophy of Andy Warhol : (From A to B and Back Again) I totally recommend reading it. Even if you're not a huge fan of Andy's work this book is hilarious and enjoyable. It's not terribly insightful but it's a quick read and very quotable. It's amazing how vain yet self deprecating he really was.
A few of my favorite Warhol quotes:
  • "I don't feel like I get germs when I hold money. . . When I pass my hand over money, it becomes perfectly clean to me."
  • "An artist is someone who produces things that people don't need to have but that he - for some reason - thinks it would be a good idea to give them."
  • "I never think that people die. They just go to department stores."
  • "Success is when the checks don't bounce."

I'll have to look for that...I bought one of Andy's books but I had to stop reading it...it just wasn't going anywhere..and I lost my patience.

I seen a doc on him alittle while ago..super interesting, I'm not like a massive fan or anything but I find him extremely intriguing and obviously he was very revolutionary.

--great quotes!

I will add this to my reading list. I saw a huge Warhol exhibit in Atlanta many years ago and his work is truly genius. What an odd but insightful man he was.
