ladders & boxes

Less:

More:

We still have a long way to go before I feel settled in the new house.
I'm really wishing I had some of those snazzy Bewitched powers right about now.
The best part about moving is redecorating and art buying.
One of the first things I plan on doing for the new house is commissioning a neon prop ladder inspired by Ben Jones, but first my sexy step ladder and cardboard boxes need to vacate.

Silent Clusterfuck (bianca), earbuds & acrylic, 2008.

I'm no where near as in love with music as my boyfriend is. I can gladly sit in silence and stalk the interenets, whereas dead silence bothers him. Sometimes my drive home is talk radio, other times just might thoughts. I think he borders an obsession with sound. What I am loving right now is Jennie's works based on listening, music and concepts of audio.

When we look at another and see lovable traits, they are admired, especially if we possess those traits ourselves. And likewise the not-so-lovable traits in another that we can identify with, we dislike.

You may find that another persons quirks will be the pitfall in a relationship with them. Character flaws are a part of someone’s fate and they need to be acknowledged, accepted and integrated into the overall personality.

TAURUS QUIRKS-Power, sensuality and wealth motivates the bull. They will not budge unless it’s worth it. Payoffs, chocolate cake, bonus schemes and tax incentives can get them going. If there’s no reward what’s the point in moving, this is a major quirk. They may as well relax… and relax they do. There logic can be, why change when you can stay the same. Never rush a Taurus they have their own timing. Reports from partners of Taureans complain about their lack of initiative, their addiction to the T.V. or their unwillingness to do anything. Once you’re in a relationship with a Taurus, you may find they don’t want to budge.

2 in the bush

If you were to propose to me with this:

I'd say YES!
Not kidding.

Kate Macdowell's porcelains make my eyeballs explode with joy.
So would being your ball and chain.

Less for 2010

Apologize less.

Focus less on stats & figures.

Fixate less on fashion.

Spend less on shoes.

Try being a little less snarky.
Less confinement.

Yoshimasa Tsuchiya “Unicorn”
woodcarving, polychrome, crystal

This week I learned from Fragmented Fascinations that a group of Unicorns is referred to as a Blessing. Let me say that one more time: A Blessing. This might be common knowledge, so please disregard if this magical news is pffft to you. I clearly know nothing about anything.
Unbeknown, the unicorn world has other effing adorable group names.
If you see one unicorn with another it is called a dualcorn, followed by a tricorn, et cetera. If there are too many to count it can be referred to as a multicorn.

thank you

A sincere thank you to everyone who sent Parker well wishes today.
I don't think she can withstand much more doggy trauma. She's so fragile that an allergic reaction to a bug bite caused her tiny face to swell up like a balloon.
I kinda feel like a major dipshit for overreacting this morning and rushing to the vet instead of googling that shit. Had I done so I would have just spent $10 on over the counter benadryl versus spending much much more at the animal clinic. This is a clear cut sign that I'm going to be one of those parents isn't it?

unrequited love

Kathatina's work which I just spotted at for me, for you reminds me of the Spiel & Holz wooden puzzles I fell in love with while in Berlin.

It wasn't love at first sight but my appreciation for these beautiful handmade puzzles grew more in the few days I was in Germany. The idea of having to lug around a huge pointy ended wooden thing on my back while ridding around on cobble stone roads wasn't appealing. It wasn't until the last couple days of my stay that I felt compelled to bring one home with me. Then of course, as with all of my Murphy's blessed luck, the day I went back to the tiny children's boutique they were closed. Alas, I filled my suitcase with other treasures. Life went on.
I think these puzzles were resting dormant in my impulsive shopping frontal lobe because as soon as I scrolled through Katharina's body of work I felt an immediate need to search for these again. As I do with any item that tickles my fancy I completely justify it. These things are multitaskers: They can be displayed as an ever shifting wall adornmnet and then later be perfect for my far off into the future babies. I can even still consider it a travel momento. Ta-Dah.

I haven't picked one up yet but I'm gunning for the 16.5" geometric spiral seen above.
