*reminder

thank best friend one more time for having a photobooth at her darling wedding.

unstimulated & easily distracted

I've been watching bird videos for the past 20 mins.

just for you:

Cutest wedding ever. Pom Pom Dahlias, origami airplanes, trophy vases, polaroids, typewriter table, vintage suitcases, signature cucumber libations, and a real black & white photobooth machine. Unbeatable.

Have a great weekend

Lisa Oppenheim; The Sun is Always Setting Somewhere Else
35mm slide projection using images downloaded from the internet of sunsets taken by soldiers in Iraq, then positioned in front of the setting sun in New York

I have to get the f@#$ out of the office before the few moments of sunlight disappear. I hate the clock change so much. I hope you crazies have an awesome time this weekend. I'll be busy bridesmaiding at my best friends' wedding and sipping champagne.

my world is pretty small

I haven't traveled to too many foreign destinations. Exploring the world is definitely on the top of my agenda before it "gets too late". Next up on my itinerary: Peru, Spain, Prague, Iceland & Scotland. I absolutely love this Francis Elliott map project. My personal globe would be about this blacked out.

Francis Elliott
Dark Globe was first published in April 2007 for the Bristol Artists' Bookfair. The book is in 2 halves; the first features a form which lists every country in the world. The prospective buyer is then required to answer a series of questions about where they have, and haven't, traveled to. Foundry then uses the information given to create the second part; a unique atlas that records the owner's personal experiences of the world by blacking out every country that the owner has spent less than one night in, rather than the more normal use as a teaching aid.

Dermot Flynn's adorable map illustrations are also giving me the travel itch:

inspiration: Alexandre Joly

one word: awe-inspiring

I want my home to have elements of Alexandre Joly's work. The birds, the smoke, the peacock feathers... Everything! I strongly recommend checking out all of his projects. If I owned a home with a yard I would certainly want to duplicate the Brrr... project for the holidays. The propped taxidermy ravens were a slight inspiration for this year's pithy Halloween decor:

I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween weekend! Ours was divine.
I want to thank everyone who commented on Parker's burger feet costume last week. Not to say I wasn't shocked that everyone dug it... but it's always so great to feel the blog love & appreciation. I love this damn community. Enjoy a few links from around the webs last week that made my eyes happy:

• make tacos not war

Parker's Halloween costume

This year she's going as William Hundley's chihuahua on burger!

A marriage of all the things I love: chiwas, burgers & the internet.

The burgers didn't take too long to construct. Getting Parker to trust me again will probably take a bit longer though.

Happy Friday

I've been so consumed/distracted lately but today I plan on tying up some loose ends and getting back on track. My glass is filling up half way!
