I just spent 20 minutes on the NASA website with an impatient Chi on my lap. Newborn black holes and gamma rays kept my attention. I should go back to studying.

I can't believe New Years was so far away already.
I want time to sloooow down.

(insert Charlie Brown groan)

I've been feeling slightly shitty lately. I'm excited about my new career but I hate the frustration of not knowing things right away. Being clueless is one of the worst feelings. I need to quit feeling dumb, let time absorb things, apply some extra mental effort and quit feeling bad about myself.

I don't think watching back to back episodes of Hoarders is good for my mental health.
I have dust bunnies in the brain.

"Cuteness is distinct from beauty, researchers say, emphasizing rounded over sculptured, soft over refined, clumsy over quick. Beauty attracts admiration and demands a pedestal; cuteness attracts affection and demands a lap. Beauty is rare and brutal, despoiled by a single pimple. Cuteness is commonplace and generous, content on occasion to cosegregate with homeliness." -The Cute Factor The New York Times

I'm working on correcting a few verbal bad habits.
One of them: the over abundance of the word CUTE in my vocabulary

heat of the jungle

I'm in love with my recent $1.25 book score:

The Complete Basic Book of Home Decorating has been stimulating my 1960s deprived eyeballs. I'm seriously motivated to incorporate some of these"basics" from circa 1976.
This opulent rosy feline bedroom is among my favorite concept looks:

description: Teens with tiny rooms might consider the airy chic of wicker furniture. This small room becomes a real den with the wildlife running riot on the walls and floor. The brilliant color combination of marigold and shocking pink, cuts the apparent size and adds to the intimacy. Desktop and accessories in stark white cut cool down the heat of the jungle.

great find:His Royal Highness Husayn Kamil

This regal fellow needs to bestow in my humble kingdom.

Husayn was the son of Khedive Isma'il Pasha, who was ruler of Egypt and Sudan from 1863 until 1879. He became Sultan of Egypt and Sudan after the deposition of his nephew, Khedive Abbas by the British.

"I have seen all, I have heard all, I have forgotten all."

I really really want to see the boyfriend dressed up as Archibald Alexander Leach in North by Northwest. All he'd need is a slick gray suit, pomade and a tiny plane on his shoulder. *Swoon*

There's something weirdly comforting about watching a Hitchcock film you've seen a dozen times. Tonight I'm in the mood for To Catch a Thief:

I have a slight thing for Cary Grant.
Especially as an ex jewel thief.

Do you have a favorite Hitchcock piece?
