where does your heart lay?

Joseph Cornell's The Heart on the Sleeve

According to google, "People who wear their heart on their sleeve express their emotions freely and openly, for all to see. Those who wear their heart on their sleeve do not hold back their emotions, for good or for bad. It is clear how they feel in each moment."

You're pretty spot on here google, (for once). I am sensitive, a romantic and very emotional at times. Adversely, If you're a piece of crap to me, particularly a passive aggressive one- I'll let you know it. I will openly fawn over and profess my love, or give you a back the fuck up look and sass. I held back on releasing some fury on someone today... but my sleeve was pounding.

flat pets

These deliciously furless cardboard mascots by Chris Ratcliffe and Garudio Studiage border that absolutely useless/necessary realm. Yep, that means I want one.
I was instantly reminded of that SATC episode where Charlotte was given a flat baby. I'd spit in someone's face if I was handed a carboard infant but a cardboard kitty would be highly welcomed.

skin

Gonzenbach; ORDINARY TALES , 2006
env 45x35x4 cm chaque, gravure laser sur peau de lapin

Now that me and my mans carpool together in the morning I've been waking up much earlier than normal. Yesterday he actually woke me up at 6:45am so we can have coffee and krispy kremes together. It was sweet but I wanted to skin him alive.

I wonder if he'd be as cute as these skinned rabbits? I never would have thought rabbit pelt as medium would look so great.

for Naty

I just found out my best friend has chicken pox. She's beyond
bummed so I'm posting Jan Svankmajer's Alice especially for her.
But if you like surrealism, taxidermy, stop motion,Lewis Carole,
and randomness then I'm sure you'll enjoy this too.

N: I'm sending over this rabbit to soothe you in your time of pox. He'll know just what to do.

beggar's velvet

Dust Bunny
(raw scan of a 4x5 negative I never printed, 2005)

Monday pretty much sucked my soul out but coming home to a spotless house has made me feel a little better.  My lovely man even cleaned under the sofa and behind the entertainment center.

unlucky bunny

"Unlucky Bunny", Laura Plansker
I can't imagine the work that went into this scene, the lighting and set design is spot on.

This photograph makes me reconsider wearing *my rabbit foot necklace-for a few moments.
*as seen at the bottom of this post.

bunny love print

“Bunny Love”; 18″ x 24″ seven color screenprint,edition of 55;Lucky Bunny $75.
I'm impressed with the watercolor effect they achieved. I've never seen a 7 color silkscreen print look so light and effortless. This would be great for a baby's room.

bunnies and trash

I love garbage bag art!

Leave it to the Japanese to design adorable trash bags. Check out the deliciously clever Oscar the Grouch series:Designed by Tokyo-based creative group MAQ, Inc., Rabbit-kun aims to inspire a more responsible attitude toward waste by providing a cute and stylish way for people to carry their trash home after a day outdoors. The bunny-shaped sack is the latest in a line of eye-pleasing Garbage Bag Art Work trash bags by MAQ.

Great movie: Harvey

I saw this for the first time last night and I am in love! Harvey is an inspiring film about a delightfully pleasant man named Elwood P. Dowd who is best friends with an invisible 6'3 alcoholic bunny.
I have a soft spot for Jimmy Stewart, bunnies and pookah's.
Favorite quote: "Well, I've wrestled with reality for thirty-five years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it."-Elwood P. Dowd
