interior spaces: gold teeth brooklyn

[apt.<span class=
Welcome to the Gold Teeth Brooklyn studios and residence where 3 creative minds and one cat call home. My dear and long time friend Jesse of GTB has agreed to give us a sneak peek into their Brooklyn nook. Jesse and her creative partner Emily established Gold Teeth a little over a year ago, with a focus on handmade screen printed greeting cards and fine art prints. Their work has quickly become a Brooklyn fixture at craft fairs and boutiques and has even been picked up by Steven Alan. The brand has recently evolved into custom jewelry and accessories. I pretty much love everything this duo makes but their studio is giving me sunlight envy.

"Emily and I have been living in this space for almost a year now and it's the first place in New York that has really felt like home...i love the overly varnished wood floors and open bright space that allows us to really spread out our work, we have great peak light in the afternoon!"

The bright and airy studio and living space is a reflection of the taste and compatibility of 3 equally talented people. The GTB girls live together with Jesse's boyfriend Alex who happens to be a hands on jack of all trades and professional welder. "Alex built me a beautiful work table with a butcher block top and a handful of great butcher block shelves that allow me to showcase my collections properly."
On top of being a budding entrepreneur and all around awesome lady, Jesse has a sharp eye for treasures. She is a born collector- I always loved visiting her folk's home in Miami that was packed with eclectic and unique odds and ends. "We have also started to accumulate old rulers which is becoming a bit of a collection...they all seem to come in handy tho when it comes to a printing project."

"I have been collecting globes for a few years now.... it all started with wanting a black ocean globe and then i just got obsessed! My mom has a fabulous flea market in Detroit where you can still find great vintage gems for barely any money."

"We tend to work with a muted color palate and simplified shapes to create everyday objects that make you smile."

"It has been a lot of fun starting a business all on our own, watching it grow and seeing positive responses from people is extremely encouraging. It is a huge challenge at times and we are both quite new to the business end of things but are learning a ton and feel that there is nothing more rewarding than creating something that you are proud of"

apartment tour

I've been meaning to showcase my tiny apartment for a while now. Seeing that we'll most likely be moving, now's a better time than ever to share the little box with you guys. I absolutely adore our itty bitty 600sqft space. This is no selby feature but it'll have to do.

Here we have our bedroom with attached bathroom & balcony.
I think the tealtown chandelier curtains add some charm but my favorite part of this room is the family photo wall. Anytime I spot white frames I just have to pick a few up.

Although our building is is old and lacks any curb appeal-- our unit has been renovated. Sadly, the inner workings of the building are deteriorating and the pipeage is questionable. We don't want to potentially deal with an other flood. We've been living here for nearly a year and a half. That's a bit of a record for us-- we're always on the move.

interior spaces: Salem- Chrissy&Kevin

I am so pleased to have my dear pals Chrissy a talented prop/wardrobe stylist and Kevin a partner/designer at Liberated Images showcase their new loft for the interior spaces project. Not only is Chrissy one of the funniest people I know but she and her hubbers have a great eye for style. It's apparent that they are proud of their first home together. Its a 974 square ft condo in a 100 year old brick building in downtown historic Salem Massachusetts. Prior to being residential the space was an indoor driving range!

100 year old maple floors, exposed brick, high ceilings, a melange of modern/vintage furniture and a sick record collection set the mood for this clean and inviting living room.

proud chiwa parents of BB and her bud Sneezer!

refreshing white yet not sterile

They are fortunate enough to have great thrift shops close by and a slew of creative friends to offer art and carpentry services. "The huge shelving unit was built by a friend of mine from art school, Jay Rodricks. He built it out of mahogany to specifically fit Kevin's serious record collection. We love it and are very proud of Jay's work."

everything about this entryway is amazing!

There's nothing like a clean no frills kitchen. Busy counter tops are a huge pet peeve of mine.

"We are roughly 5 blocks from the ocean, so we have the sounds of seagulls and smell
of the ocean air."

knowing that their bedroom is so close to the water and naturally peaceful makes it that much better. BB and the Beatles ain't bad either.

Interior Spaces: Berlin-Tiffany

I couldn't be away for too long!
I want to focus on an untapped resource: my amazingly talented and creative friends. Obviously inspired by the Selby and D*sponge sneak peaks, I am going to showcase the interesting interior spaces of some dear friends and colleagues. Fortunately I have some cool cats spread across the globe so there should be some diversity and great finds.
Here we have Tiffany a Miami/NYC transplant in Germany currently a photographer, globe trotter & creative problem solver with PERES PROJECTS Berlin. Once the sun finally made a long awaited appearance she was able to share her space with us. I am absolutely loving her chic, simple airy bedroom and organic decorative features. If I had to classify this style I'd say it was hipster bohemian chic-which is a very eclectic way of saying awesome p.o.v.
